Recommended processing times:
If you have a laser, shine it through the solution. Tyndall Effect (laser density) should be viewed in subdued light only. After 25 minutes you should be able to start seeing a faint laser line and will have produced a satisfactory batch of ionic colloidal silver. After 1 hour 40 minutes you should be able to see a very clear and bold laser line and you will have produced a very effective batch of Ionic Silver. The ability to see the laser beam as described indicates the concentration is between 5 to 20ppm. The darker the beam, the better, but if the solution even starts to turn yellow, you’re done. A slight yellow tint may be present, but is not necessary. It is not recommended to process the solution over 1 hour 40 minutes.

If you would like a more accurate ppm estimate, probably the least expensive and accurate way would be to purchase say a 2 oz. bottle of (Ionic) Colloidal Silver in the ppm you desire from a Health Food Store to use as a standard to compare against your finished product. Compare the Tyndall Effect (laser density) in your solution with that of the standard solution you purchased. If the beam is lighter than the standard, you have less ppm and obviously if it is darker, you have more ppm than the standard. This would be a very good way to fine tune your process if you wish.
If you are not using starter solution, add 15 minutes to the overall time.
| Time | Concentration |
| 25 Min | 5ppm |
| 50 Min | 10ppm |
| 1 Hr | 12ppm |
| 1 Hr 15 Min | 15ppm |
| 1 Hr 30 Min | 18ppm |
| 1 Hr 40 Min | 20ppm |
